#7: My hair story

Hello there!
This week I’m back with a new article on my hair.
It’s known a lot of changes in the past year: pixie cut, colouration...

I wanted to write about my hair because I used to not give a damn about it, and now I cherish it. This is not going to be an article focused on dying your hair. I’ve already thought about writing one, but I’m waiting because some change is coming ;)
If you’re interested, keep reading! :)

> The haircut I had for 15 years

Do you remember this picture? It was in one of my previous posts
It basically shows you the haircut I had and never changed. Medium long blond hair. Of course, I sometimes went to the hairdresser to cut what was damaged, but at that time I didn’t even take care of it. No wonder it wouldn’t grow!

> November 2013: biggest change ever

This is quite a funny story. I was having fun on Snapchat, impersonating celebrities such as Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, and then, I thought of Justin Bieber. I mean, who never made fun of his former haircut and hit song Baby?
So I tied my hair in order to look as if I had approximately the same look:

Which looked like this:

(I did what I could, okay?)
The thing is, it seemed to me that it looked pretty real, so I decided to tell everyone I had cut my hair. And they all believed me! I couldn’t stop laughing. Me, cutting my hair? Please, that would never happen.
I was getting tons of compliments, some even telling me I looked better this way (wait, what?). I was confused because of this, but also the fact that the more I looked at the picture, the more I actually thought it fitted me. I liked the idea of having short hair.
I told my mother about it, and she gave me 20€. She told me: ‘you decide. If you want to cut it, do it! If you don’t, just make sure you give me the money back.’
Two weeks later, I was going to my grandmother’s. When at the bus station, you need to go right. But then I thought, screw it. I went left, to the hairdresser. I showed her the above picture, and she had kind of a shock. Indeed, I usually wouldn’t let her cut half an inch, and here I was, asking her to cut eight.
Before washing my hair, she cut most of it, the rest arriving just above my shoulders.

I was traumatized. What if I had done a mistake? Moreover, this is not even everything she cut.
But in the end, I loved it!

I cannot even begin to tell you how this haircut felt amazing. First, there’s nothing like a big change. Second, I was 100x more confident than I was before.
I cut it again, three months later, but I didn’t really like the result, so I decided to grow it out.

> Dying my hair

I had been wanting to do it for ages: on the very last day of July, to celebrate the Weasleys because Harry’s too famous already, I died my hair a reddish brown colour, that turns ginger when it fades, the one that I have now.

> What now?

I am currently testing several things to make my hair grow faster, and I think I’ll write a post about it in about two months to make sure I don’t get anything wrong.
Also, as I said at the beginning of the article, some changes are coming regarding my hair, but I’m not telling you for now. You’ll just have to wait and see! ;)

That is it for today’s article! I hope you enjoyed it :)
Let me know if you’d like an article about haircare and updates on my hair follies ;)
As always, if you have a request or anything you’d like to tell me, make sure to message me either on Tumblr or with the ‘Contact’ page on my blog. You can also talk to me via my Facebook page. (The link is at the top of my Tumblr blog or on the top right on my blogspot.)
